Bought 3 more of you CDs yesterday at the Auburn home show plus Nicholas
Buckmelter's "Mountain Eire." We've already listened to and enjoyed these latest -- even more
than we do the first one we picked up in Virginia City. It was good, but these are even better.
I hope you make a million bucks and many more.
Best wishes and regards,

Hi Big Gerry,
My wife and I were probably your first customers on Saturday, Feb. 3 at the Dickens Festival
in Riverside, CA. We bought four CDs. We thoroughly enjoyed your friendly openness, and we
are continuing to enjoy your music (as well as the guitarist and Irish flute player).
I mentioned that I played the Great Highland Bagpipe / Piobaireachd. My piping teacher, Aaron
Shaw of the Wicked Tinkers, goes to various Celtic Festivals and performs his music in those
venues. You have probably run across the Wicked Tinkers at some time. Thank you for the
wonderful music! We are looking forward to future recordings.
Best regards,

Hi Gerry,
I had the unparallelled pleasure of meeting you and purchasing one of your CD's at the
Riverside Dickens Festival this last weekend. What a treat! I should have taken advantage
of the show special! I bought "Big Celtic Buckskinner," and was pleasantly surprised to
find that, unlike most CD's I buy, I like ALL the songs on it, especially the ones you
wrote yourself. I have decided that I just love listening to the hammered dulcimer.
Thanks!

Dear Gerry,
I just finished listening to the CD my wife and I bought from you on Saturday at Cal Expo.
It is great music and very relaxing. It is my first exposier to true Celtic music and I
totally enjoy it. Will you be performing live anywhere in the Sacramento area around St.
Patrics day? I would love to come and see a concert.
Thank's and good luck!!!

Gerry !
I just wanted to thank you again for putting together all that beautiful music. I've been
having a hard time, because I have a genetic illness. The music makes things easier. I would
really like to recommend that you showcase your own voice more. It's not a technical
showpiece, but it's like Louis Armstrong's voice in that it conveys an impression of a really
interesting person.
Also, congratulations on your marriage. Are you going to put up pictures of your fiancee?
Finally, when is the next CD going to come out?

Hello! Mr. Big Gerry,
My wife purchased three CD's from you at the crafts fair last Sunday. She said to let you know
how I liked the music. It is outrageously grand! I've been to Ireland, therefore I know what
good Celtic music is. I also like the Yankee tunes! I'd love some day to play a tape for you
of the music of Johnny Reedy (plays the accordian). The purpose would be to see if you could
play some of the songs he has on this tape. The songs are Irish jigs and reels ect. Looking
foreward to hearing you perform in person.
Sincerely,
Johnny Kinder, Loomis, Ca......p.s. I also enjoy Bluegrass!

Hi Gerry,
We met at the Ojai Gold Coast Pirate Festival -- and you gave me your
recent album to review in No Quarter Given.
The draft of the review is included below.

Music and Song of a Nautical Nature

I first listened to this album on a Monday morning at work while chained
to my galley oar . . . er . . . desk. After chuckling a bit at the
title, I couldn't help but smile when I gazed upon the cover, a picture
of Legendary Big Gerry with his feathered companion. Despite the dagger
in his teeth, Gerry does not quite look like a bloodthirsty pirate.
Gerry opens with a cute humorous opening bit, but after that the music
started. Soon, my toes were a tappin' and I was a'dancin' in my chair.
I discovered this album is a great way to change a dreary Monday morning
at work into a rollickin' time.
About half of the selections are songs, with the rest as instrumentals,
with a Celtic flavor, often featuring hammered dulcimer, flute, &
fiddle.
Of the songs, there's a fairly traditional version of "The Mermaid", a
rather different & haunting rendition of "Santyano", the entertaining
modern composition "A Wife in Every Port", and the popular "Sailor's
Prayer" by Tom Lewis. The musical prelude to "Rolling Down to Maui" is
very melancholy and lonely before breaking into the song. I really like
this treatment. There's an interesting combination of Country Joe
MacDonald's "Save the Whales" followed by "What Do you Do with a Drunken
Sailor" - the tie in is a little jarring, though.
The whistful tune "Southern Star", played first on the tin whistle and
flute, then taken up by the hammered dulcimer and fiddle, is as fine as
porcelain china which turns translucent when held up to the light. Very
sweet.
Gerry has combined many familiar and not-so familiar tunes into several
medleys, and he's very good at combining tunes that go well together. I
really like the addition of Child Grove (not usually considered a
nautical tune) to the Waterfall Medley.
My favorite is the Caribbean Medley, combining Jamaica Farewell and
Sloop John B. You can just hear the steel drums.
You won't be able to sit still while listening to tis music -- and you
won't be able to keep a smile off your face. Not bad for a Monday
morning!!

I met you personally at the Renaissance Fair here in Fresno, sponsored by the
St. Paul Newman Center. I wanted at that time to introduce my husband to
your wonderful souonds and music. My interest was to purchase a sea-chanty
for my husband who loves this type of music and I (who love music and singing
imensely, 'Like breathing') also love music all music. (almost)
Gerry, I would love to come to Mammoth someday and see you personally again.
Will you be here in Fresno any time? I still want to purchase the sea-shanty
you played for me that day.
God bless you, Gerry.

Hi Gerry. Just finished listening to the CD I bought from you this Sat
in Henderson's Art Fest. I have to say it is now one of my favorites,
easily in a tier with Alten, The Chieftains, et al. Thanks for the
pleasure.
